ABSTRACT

The content mentioned in the article indicates about the value of education in India, especially in the villages and for people who are not able to afford basic education. In today’s modern era, life is very difficult without having basic education as uneducated people are exploited by the educated class. Regardless of race, creed, and gender, education makes it possible for people to standoutasequalwithalltheotherpersonsfromdifferentwalksoflife.Educationshouldbemade completely free and compulsory by the state for better growth of individual and welfare of our country. There are people from different economic backgrounds in every state and not everyone can afford the huge amount of fees thus a policy should be formulated by the government and education should be made free as even those people have a right to live life with dignity and to ensure protection to their basic right such policy should be made and implemented. My concern behind the topic is to spread social awareness about the importance of education in our life and to express that the state must formulate some policies regarding free education thereby providing equal opportunities to all and raising standard of living. Education is passport of the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.

INTRODUCTION

Educationisaveryimportantaspecttobelookedintoforleadingadignifiedlife.Learning is a never ending process and it is that powerful weapon which helps a person in each and every phase of life and nobody can take it away. Since becoming a developed country, the thinking which thestatemustfollowshouldberationalwhichwillhelpinattaininghugeeconomicgrowthaswell as high standard of living. Also, many developed countries like UK, US provides that education should be free for all, but India being a democratic country while guaranteeing all the basic fundamental rights to every citizen still lacks and faces challenges in many ways. As the literacy rate of India is much lower than the illiteracy rate and not everyone has an access to education whichresultsinimpedingthegrowthofourcountry.Duetotheadvancement intechnologies, the field of education is gaining more importance day by day.

As some may state that reasonableness is a motivation behind why education ought to be free, others concur that it is better for our economy to be profoundly taught and on the off chance that you don’t satisfy this guideline, openings are exceptionally restricted for you to have the option to manage the cost of a specific way of life. A chance to which each human has the equivalent option to arrive at their maximum capacity.

The world is quickly changing which requires ordinary occupations to be performed by individuals who are informed based or have a propelled aptitude.

This makes the possibility of a superior instructed work industry that will help increment our monetary development.

Education Should Be Free

A lot of sections in the society are backward in this field because of their poor economic conditions and hence are deprived of being educated. It is because not everyone can afford the high fees levied upon them by the institutions. Thus at least a state must provide free and compulsoryprimaryeducationtoallsothateventhepeoplewhocannotaffordsuchhighamounts of fees can also get the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and to make their future bright. From a moral point of view, it appears to be uncalled for that individuals who have less cash are going to pass up on more chances. Morally, openings ought to be open to all individuals. Despite the fact that the facts may prove that the accessibility of an open door shouldn’t insure that an individual gets that chance, the open door shouldn’t be precluded.

There is poor who are capable, smart, and clever, but due to their poor background and bad financial conditionstheylackandarenotabletocomeforwardinthesociety.Theapplicationofsuchmode by the state will not only be beneficial in providing equal opportunities to all, irrespective of their caste, culture, language, religion, butalsowillresultinabettergrowthandwelfareofourcountry. By providing free education to all, there shall also be no discrimination and equal opportunities shall be given which will ultimately result in leading a better quality of life. Also the level of unemployment of the country shallreduce.

India, whichisstilladevelopingcountryfacesalot ofchallenges in terms of providing the basic rights of its citizens as Right to education is a primary right guaranteed to all human beings by the constitution of India but the execution of such basic rights are not much more effective in the society. As per the changing needs of society, the laws must be dynamic in nature and its implementation must be looked into. The essence is that the right to education is indispensable in the interpretation of the right to development as a human right. Thus, the right to development is also considered to be a basic human right.

Constitutional Provisions have exercised a direct as well as indirect bearing on education at different stages. The various constitutional provisions regarding education in India are according to our social, economic, cultural and political needs. The constitution of India by the 86th Amendment Act, 2002 has inserted Article 21A[1]. The Right to education is now becoming the fundamental right and included in part III of the Indian constitution under article 21-A. This was done in the case of Mohini Jain vs. state of Karnataka [2], SC held that“Right to education is the essence of the right to life and directly flow and interlinked with it, and life living with dignity can only be assured when there is a significant role of education”.

Later, the validity of this judgment re-examined in by five judge bench in J.P. Unnikrishnan v. State of Andhra Pradesh[3],   and held that“Right to education means citizen has the right to call up the state to provide the facilities of education to them in according to the financial capacity”.

Not only Article 21A, but also Article 45 exclusively confers that the state shall attempt to provide early childhood care and education for all children until they complete the age of six years. On the other hand, as per Article 46 the state shall promote with special care the educational and economic interests of the weaker sections of the people and in particular, of the schedule castes and the Scheduled Tribes, and shall protect them from social injustice and all forms of exploitation.

On the contrary, not only the constitution protects the fundamental rights of citizens, but also levies a fundamental duty upon them as Article 51A Clause ‘K’ clearly states that, It shall be the duty of every citizen of India who is a parent or guardian to provide opportunities for education to his child or as the case may be, wards between the age of six and fourteen years.

Also, On the foundation of international recognition “Right to education enriched in international law in Article 26[4] of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and considered a basic need of every human being.

Why free education is advantageous is that the government is annihilating resources. The intensity of resources that can prompt medicinal discoveries, progression of the economy and innovation. Not just training aides in these progressions and revelations yet in addition have contribute in lessening the crime percentages as the fundamental purpose of carrying out a wrongdoing is povertyandunemployment.Likewise, individualswouldhavetheoptiontoattemptnewthoughts andhotshottheirgiftsandseekaftertheexistencetheyneedsincetheywouldn’tbebeginningtheir lives withdebt.

These advantages would permit our nation to have the capacity of a higher force as an advantageovercountiesasanalliancebetweenvariousgovernmentsisfundamentaltothispresent world’s way of life. With the people highly educated this will profit the entire world and lead to the expansion of improvement of human life. In spite of the fact that this can’t occur ifeducation isn’t affordable or free to those families who couldn’t want anything more than to send their youngsters to seek after higher education.

The main criteria’s which a state must involve in order to provide education free of cost and for effectively implementing these constitutional provisions are that a proper planning must be there enumerating an appropriate education plan, education reforms must be there, directions and guidelines must be formulated by government for proper implementation of the plans formulated, there must be formulation of laws and principles regarding education, committees must be formed to check the proper execution of the system and also research activities must be conducted related to educational programs. Not only this, but also, Foreign research material ought to be converted into a neighborhood language. It would be useful in increasing more information and progression in various fields of life. Keep a check in particular education, increase in motivators of instructors, announcement of grants and money related help for understudies and different advances ought to be taken to improve the innovativeness of understudies.

If we talk about the importance of education, Knowledge increased through education opens the entryway of a ton of chances and improvement.
